I caught this monster catfish under the Highland park spillway two weekends ago using live bluegills fished off the bottom that we had caught a neighborhood park earlier that afternoon. This fish is probably around a 7 pounder. My buddy Jev caught a 43 pounder a couple of nights later! It was a monster and made my fish look like bait.
I went fishing a few weeks ago on Lake Arthur about an hour north of Pittsburgh for two days. We did great catching 22 fish between my buddy Ryan and I. Most were large mouth bass but we also caught a large catfish, a carp, a perch, and a bluegill. We were using topwater lures, rapalas, and swimbaits. I caught this largemouth and this catfish on a firetiger suspending rapala. Topwater bass fishing is fast becoming one of my favorite ways to fish. We have gone night fishing a couple times lately and have caught some really nice bass on the surface. It is so exiting to see them explode out of the water.
